The base variant features a 210-kW battery with up to 282 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, and a single-speed automatic transmission with an EPA-estimated range of 291 miles*. The upgrade version boasts a 250-kW battery with a maximum of 335 horsepower, all-wheel drive with active control and driving mode selection, a single-speed automatic transmission, and a 263-mile range* as estimated by the EPA. Both are stronger than the 2024 model, which included an 82-kWh battery pack and didn’t offer quite as much range.

Refreshed Design and Advanced Technology

Some of the first design touches you’ll notice when you lay eyes on the 2025 VW ID.4 are the new front bumper, headlights, and taillights. Slide inside the cabin and you’ll find an elegant, sophisticated driving environment featuring cloth and leatherette surfaces, available 30-color adjustable ambient lighting, and available Climatronic® Touch three-zone automatic climate control.

The cabin’s technology has also gotten an upgrade. This year’s model boasts a 12.9-inch touchscreen (larger than the 2024 screen and now available with backlit sliders) and wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® all as standard features.
